There are several
explanations of how IPT (Insulin Potentiation Therapy) works. Read
more here. We prefer to use the knowledge of how to maximize the
treatment effect, and leave the theory to later discussion. In some
cases IPT can be an alternative to conventional chemotherapy. The
primary thrust of IPT is to avoid most or all of the toxic side
effects of the chemo agents. Less toxicity on the digestive system
means better nutrition as the metabolism is failing, possibly
reversing the condition. Consequently, the patient feels better and
has an improved quality of life.
A major advantage of IPT
is allowing us to use immune therapy and chemotherapy together,
which is not possible with conventional high dose chemotherapy. This
is not just immune boosting but true immunotherapy. (Read more).
Little recognized is that some types of immune therapy can make
cancer cells, but not normal cells, more sensitive to chemo agents.
Therefore, initiating immune therapy and then starting IPT can have
an enhanced effect on fighting the cancer. Some natural products
contain anticancer activity that can be increased in the presence of
certain chemo agents presenting us with another avenue to elicit
overall cancer therapy.
